In most recent past years, WSD was one of just 26 districts in California (out of about 1,000) to be named an Honor Roll School District, a national program recognizing high-performing schools that improve outcomes for students. WSD has received various prestigious awards; like the California Pivotal Practice awards for 13 of our schools and the district office, CSBA Golden Bell, Title I Schools and CA Distinguished school awardee these last three years. Additionally, the district offers a variety of specialty programs from Vietnamese and Spanish Dual Language Immersion programs, computer science, to GATE, AVID, STEM/STEAM and College & Career. The VLDI program is the first in the state, which started in 2015.
